When Granny and her canary, Vivi come to live with Molly and Will, everyone is happy. Then Vivi gets sick and dies. Granny helps the children come to terms with their loss by showing that their memories of Vivi can keep the bird alive in their hearts. Later, when Granny also dies, the children use the lessons Granny had taught them to get through the pain and find solace. Full-color art.
