Director Peter Jackson's The Lord of the Rings movies, inspired by J.R.R. Tolkien's classic trilogy, recount the adventures of hobbit Frodo Baggins and the Fellowship of the Ring as they attempt to save Middle Earth from imminent evil at the hands of the dark wizard Sauron. The Fellowship of the Rings won four Academy Awards and has grossed more than $800 million worldwide; the second installment, The Two Towers, is one of the most eagerly anticipated films of the year.
