The Dragon Tarot follows traditional tarot symbolism, but draws upon the rich imagery of dragons in historical and mythological sources. Dragonland evokes the fantastic world of imagination, myth and magic. The Dragon Tarot was conceptualized by Terry Donaldson with artwork by Peter Pracownik. Donaldson is the creator of the Lord of the Rings Oracle and Lord of the Rings Tarot. The complete Tarot deck consist of 78 cards that are divided into two sections: 22 major arcana and 56 minor arcana. The Major Arcana represents the cycle of physical and spiritual forces that we encounter on our journeys through life, birth, strength, love, relegion, death and re-birth. The minor arcana are believed to be de the forerunner to the contemporary deck of playing cards, consisting in four suits: Wands, Cups, Swords, Coins (Pentacles). Each of the four suits contains four court cards and ten pip cards numbered one (Ace) through ten. The four court cards in each suit are named King, Queen, Knight and Page. The minor arcana generally represent occupations, social positions, and status.
