Moderately priced, this classic steam-and-dry iron comes unencumbered with bells and whistles but delivers on ironing day with 1100 watts of power and a polished aluminum soleplate that heats up extra hot for pressing away tough wrinkles. The iron operates the old-fashioned way: Press a button on the handle for dry ironing, or pop it up for steam. Fill the water tank through the large hole on the front of the handle. Turn the dial to select temperature, using the large, easy-to-read guide printed on the iron. The iron has a comfortable handle and the soleplate has a button guide.
