 「ドラゴンクエスト」シリーズのモンスターたちにスポットをあて、育成に収集の要素を加えたRPG。戦うことでモンスターを捕獲し、雌雄のモンスター同士を掛け合わせ、最強のモンスターを作り出していく。掛け合わせる前にモンスターを育て、特技を覚えさせたり、パラメータを上げたりして、その能力を子どもに引き継がせることができる。そのため、プレイヤー好みのモンスターを作れるというのが本作の最大の魅力。

   時代設定は、『ドラゴンクエストVI』に登場するテリーの幼き日のお話。突如現れたかわいいモンスター「わたぼう」に、「タイジュの国」と呼ばれる不可思議な世界へ連れて込まれてしまう。そこでテリーは、モンスター同士を戦うイベント「ほしふりの大会」の優勝を目指すべく、モンスターを育てていくのだ。（池村慎一）
