Just the Facts: The United States Bill of Rights offers teachers and parents a superb video resource for social studies, history, and government classes at the junior high or freshman-sophomore level of high school. The program is divided into in-depth segments focusing on each of the amendments comprising the Bill of Rights and includes accessible commentary from university professors in constitutional theory and history. After the Bill of Rights, the program spends some time on the amendments that addressed slavery, prohibition, and suffrage. The program is not adorned with flashy production values but is well organized and presented. There is an enormous amount of content in only 50 minutes of play time, so the program will best serve typical junior and senior high school students if it is not shown in one sitting. Teachers should instead implement the segments individually as a multimedia component of a Bill of Rights unit so that the dense information can be unpacked, analyzed, and discovered. --Erik Macki
